Is Fox News Conservative?

I keep hearing people say that Fox News is conservative. I really don't see it. typically, people who say Fox News in conservative are usually left-wing and anything to the center of politics is considered conservative to them.

Case in point. The owner of News Corp and Fox News, Rupert Murdoch just did a fund raiser for Hillary Clinton.

I would say Fox News in a nationalist news agency more concerned with America's interest. CNN cares more about international interests. This difference usually makes left-wing ideologues say, "Fox News is more conservatives," but I don't buy it.

Mike

Mike,
Fox news is definitely conservative.
I'm pretty moderate.. I have some socially liberal views and some fiscally conservative views. But across the board, I go with what I feel is the right decision regardless of party or political lines. Fox in my opinion is one of the most biased news agencies in the US. Even more blatantly conservative than some news agencies are liberal.

As apposed to Dan Rather and CBS rushing to release fake Bush Guard memos one week before a Presidential election? Or how about CNN calling the 9-11 hijackers "alleged" terrorists for 2 months after 9-11?

Please provide proof that Fox News is a conservative news network. Again, I see them as a nationalistic news agency, not a conservative one. Just because they are pro-U.S. doesn't make them conservative. Also, please explain how the chairman is so conservative he is funding the very liberal Hillary Clinton.

I won't split hairs and say what side they lean to, I just think their journalism is horrible. Same goes for most other round the clock news agencies.

I agree with you there Crunk! I use Google news as my primary source. They typically have 100+ sources for each major headline. At least you can get a few different perspectives.

Its pretty well known that Fox news is very conserative and Republican. CNN, CBS are democratic and liberal. If you really want to get unbaised news, read the New York Times, Wall Street Journal or LA Times. These newspapers go to great links to make sure they report the facts and keep things unbiased. Watching the news on TV is not the best way to get unbaised opinions. The news sells what they think its viewers want to hear and see, not what is actually the whole truth.

Are you joking? The New York Times and LA Times are far from unbiased media. They lean left and don't hide it.

Is there truely an "unbiased" news source? I am not sure. Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one! Editors and writers are no different. I posted somewhere in the lounge that 9 out of 10 news paper writers, editors and other news workers voted for Kerry and Gore. Do you think the media reports on President Bush in an unbiased manner?

Sorry Mike, you know I'm conservative, but I definitely think Fox News leans to the right. People make such a big stink about it because the rest of the mainstream media has leaned left for so long, they try to make Fox look ultra-conservative. Now, as for the New York and LA Times being unbiased? Seriously, you're joking right?

bleh. there's an interesting study on media bias done by UCLA.
What's interesting is that FOX News with Brit Hume is shown to be conservative, but we all know that the evening news reported by Hume is tame compared to Bill O'Reilly or some of the other Fox spin doctors.
Unfortunately, the study doesn't address Fox's other 'news' shows.
