I remember hearing this a few years ago, but it is a classic. I will do my best to repeat it as accurately as I can.
Four men go out to dinner at a nice restaurant. All four off them sit down and prepare to eat. After the waiter brings the menus, one of the men says, "Guys I have been doing so well this year the dinner is on me."
The guy buying the dinner then orders a steak with potatoes. The second man, knowing his meal is free orders a steak with lobster. The third man proceeds to order steak, lobster and a bottle of champagne. The fourth man, not to be outdone orders a steak, lobster and a vintage bottle of wine costing $300.
They get their orders and eat up having a great time. After the meal the water brings the check and the fist man pays for it all. Before the men leave the manager of the restaurant approaches the men and says, "Gentlemen! Since you guys spent so much money I am giving you guys a $100 coupon for your next visit." The first guy who paid for the meal reaches for the check, but is stopped.
"I think I should get it!, says the second man.
"Why should you get it? I ordered more!" Says the third man.
"Well, I ordered the most!" Says the the fourth man.
The first man is shocked. "Guys, I paid for the meal. Shouldn't I get the check?"
The other three men look at the first guy and all three say, "You would think like that!" And continue to fight over the voucher. Frustrated, the first man walks out.
This is our tax system. People who don't pay in taxes, want a bigger refund and then say the "rich" need to pay more. It the most frustrating part of the "Entitlement" society in America. Penalizing people for success only forces them to move their business overseas or to another state. Just take a look at all of the California businesses that fled to Nevada due to the extreme tax rate before Arnold.
The Economy is BOOMING because of the Bush tax cuts. You will not find a SINGLE editorial from a Democrat or liberal newspaper giving Bush credit. Our stock market is hitting new records each day, unemployment is at a record low and the economy is moving along.
