Just wondering, becasue their is a big difference in the best and most important.

Chuck, this is an auto feed from GI Korea. I have the top Korea-related Blogs and Newspapers automatically posting in here.
I guess "best" is subjective as one guy may love Osan and another may hate it. Now important is more objective. So, yes I agree there is a difference. Maybe GI Korea will come on and explain as he will get notifications of these replies. Mike

This article strictly addresses strategic importance of the installations listed. I can immediately see why Japan or Korea would be excluded if you were to compare it to Diego Garcia or Andersen in Guam... it says so in the article itself... it's remote enough to prevent surprise attack (ostensibly from China) and is on either sovereign British or US soil. Yet within staging distance for potential hotspots (in Asia).
