China overtakes US as world's biggest CO2 emitter

Looks like the left-wingers have a new #1 polluter to target.
China has overtaken the United States as the world's biggest producer of carbon dioxide, the chief greenhouse gas, figures released today show.

The surprising announcement will increase anxiety about China's growing role in driving man-made global warming and will pile pressure onto world politicians to agree a new global agreement on climate change that includes the booming Chinese economy. China's emissions had not been expected to overtake those from the US, formerly the world's biggest polluter, for several years, although some reports predicted it could happen as early as next year.

But according to the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency, soaring demand for coal to generate electricity and a surge in cement production have helped to push China's recorded emissions for 2006 beyond those from the US already. It says China produced 6,200m tonnes of CO2 last year, compared with 5,800m tonnes from the US.

And we all know China has been much worse for a long time.

The thing is, the US tracks a lot of this stuff more accurately. China? No way. They're too busy covering stuff up. The truth is, this problem has gotten so far out-of-control that China can't hide it anymore.

And we will likely see played out in the mainstream media what has been going on for a long time.

The average person will see that the main movers and shakers behind global warming are the same types of people who were always against "capitalist materialism" and if you trace it far back enough, they were part of the movement against the industrial revolution way back in the early 1800s.

China and "developing" nations have always been slated for protection when it came to implementing calls to curb factors that are said to cause global warming.

It is a tool to attack the rich industrial, capitalist nations.

An attack led by the same-old-same-old people.

They just no longer feel the need to point to an alternative social theory that would be better in many ways ---

as they did communism/socialism from the late 1800s to the early 1990s.
