Middle East War

Link to Nyquist's latest writing:http://www.financialsense.com/stormw...2007/0622.html

Once again, Nyquist is hitting the nail squarely on the head with looking at the true picture of geo-political mis-conception and a coming war in the middle east. America is the only real ally that Israel has. A Russia and China backed first strike against Israel, if successful, will change everything on the planet. Our so-called friends in Saudi-Arabia, once our best friends over there (pre-911), have always called for the eventual and total destruction of the Jewish state, just as thier Islamic brethren have. They just have not been as publicly vocal about it in recent years as they once were. If an Arab/ Persian first strike is being planned, all indications seem to support it happening immediately before the 2008 U.S. election.

Re: Middle East War

I didn't post anything about Palestineans or there ethnic heritage as I recall so I'm not sure what you are rebutting. As for your statement that Arabs don't support Palestineans, where in the world did you derive that logic from? Just curious.

Cool Re: Middle East War

We will fool around in Iraq for a few more months unless it heats up elsewhere...I see Afghanistan is accusing us of bombing civilians, which could have happened. We are on touchy ground. Israel getting attacked could happen simultaneously, but I hope not. WW3 may be near.

Re: Middle East War

Turk you mentioned Isreal, who is shooting bullets at Isreal right now? The Isrealis got damn near the same military hardware we got what do the Palistineans have? The Saudis have deep pockets but yet the Palistineans don't have sophisticated weopons like the Isrealis. Ancient history says the Arabs have beaten the Isrealis but modern history says everytime they went up against the Isrealis they lost.

Re: Middle East War

Very interesting artcle. I have always said the way for the U.S. military out of Iraq has two exits; through Syria or Iran.

No one is shooting at Israel right now, except for a couple of Katusha rockets recently in the north. What is happening right now is rapid preparation by both sides, i.e. Israel and those who hate Israel. Russia and China have been supplying technology and arms, via overt and covert channels, to Syria and many others who want to see Israel destroyed. Israel, apparently, has a nuclear deterent. Iran is working on a nuclear deterent/offense. The Israeli's have much the same military hardware we have, of course. They are surrounded by, and vastly outnumbered by people whe hate them. During the 1967 war, Israel prevailed in large part because of command and control. The Arab forces, under Nassar, were essentially divided and conqured due to their inability to direct forces where they would be the most effective at any given time. Modern communications has made this playing field much more even. These are some of the facts. My personal opinion is that China will use every power it has to prevent any major middle east war from happening until after the successful completion of the 2008 olympics which it sees as vital to the worlds perception of it. What do the Palestineans have? They are the rallying cry for any consolidated Arab push to attack Israel, just as they were in 1967 and other times. They are the 'cause' to be reckoned with for the Arab states. That's what Palestineans have. Peace.
