Hello from the US!

Ok folks , after a loooooonnnnnnng flight with the 18mth old and the 6 yr old , a two week visit with the Mother out law ,and a 5 day drive across the US I am now at Ft Leavenworth KS ! yippeee , I survived the 2 yr Korean tour , wow and you can not believe how much I miss being there , the time just flew by .
My hubby is in school so we have no idea where to next , but for the time being KS is really ok , not the big city I am used too .Kids are settling in well, and the housing is ok , I keep telling myself it not forever .
Mr Joe it was great meeting you just before I left , and my husband sold the car for the asking price the day before he left .
Anyway would love to hear form y'all !

Cool Re: Hello from the US!

We miss you and are glad you are back, at least on the forum! I'm sure it was an ordeal, and yes, those of us who love Korea get tears every time we leave. I have left only 4 times.
My friend, a Major's wife, lived on Post at Yongsan for 4 years. They had 7 children. Back in the early 70's you could get a live in maid for about $100 a month. And they lived right near the Post swimming pool. No one, I'm sure, has ever hated leaving more than she! Please enjoy Kansas, and keep writing to us!

Re: Hello from the US!

I hope I don't offend, but I thought I would offer this great quote about Kansas.

"Yeah, well, I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas, sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-*****es."

Outlaw Josey Wales

p.s. I'm from Nebraska and it's almost football season. I couldn't pass up the opportunity.
