My Holland friend.
I have a friend who lives in Holland. She is Korean adopted daughter.
When she was 7 years old, she was adopted by Dutch parents. I met her on myspace website. I am learning about Netherlands now through her. I am also tell her about a change Korea. She said me, Holland is no mountain. Oh ...I can't believe that. Is that right ? She said, here is only flatland. so, I miss a mountain very much. |

She is correct. No mountains. Much of Holland was recovered from the sea! A lot of the country is actually below sea level! They built dams, called dikes there, around parts of the seashore, and pumped out the water.
Like the old days in Korea, they also have wooden shoes. I believe some of the windmills still are used to keep pumping out the water. The tulip flowers are very beautiful! |
