Re: What are your plans for Halloween?
I plan to dress up as an American and go to work on Yongsan Army Post. I don't have one of those $40 masks from Itaewon, because I already look like Colonel Sanders. I wish I had a "Kentucky Colonel" type necktie and a white sport coat. If someone has a white sport coat size XX please let me know. The necktie may be harder to find. Please check you local novelty shops and send me one if you can.
Trick or treat doesn't happen in the Korean community. I'm not sure why the Commissary has so much candy out front. I guess if you live on Post or Base you may need a bag or two. Most people take kids to halloween parties on the Posts or Bases. I'm trying to stop eating candy and switch to air popped popcorn and other filling but low calories treats. Low calorie and treats doesn't seem to fit right in the same sentence! The pre-diabetic class I attended two years ago asked me to sum up what I learned in their four hour program. I said, "If it tastes good, spit it out"! The corpsman agreed with me. I had earned my diploma. I can't wait for Thanksgiving, when I will pretend to be thankful for Slim Fast, air popped popcorn and (ugh) rice cakes. ![]() |

Re: What are your plans for Halloween?
I plan on going to the Spooky Hollow event that the base hosts every year. I missed it last year. I'm not going to dress up but I plan on eating a lot of candy.

Re: What are your plans for Halloween?
Well lets see. For halloween I will be decorating, feeding and handing out treats to my preschoolers class before a parade. After the parade I get to go do the same thing for my Kindergartener. I'll also be taking them to their Girl scout "fall festival" party and then take them trick or treating. Sometime though in between school and the other activites I have to go home and get my kiindergartener changed into her costume because for the parade her entire class is dressing up like freakin CHRISTMAS ELVES!!! I also have two other parties to go to to this weekend. I love Halloween, it's my favorite holiday :)

Re: What are your plans for Halloween?
Here in Dallas they have all the Xmas stuff out and a little section for Halloween. I think Thanksgiving is no longer a holiday as far as retail industry is concerned. I guess I can see the point as Thanksgiving is mainly about food and family. I am looking forword to giving out candy although the crowd is smaller every year.
