"I am a very unique Korean"!
Yes, I agree, Mr. Shsong21! I am pleased to be your friend. You are improving your English every day! Miss Park is the president of the Han-na-ra-dang party. Her party won in the Election. I believe she could be President, if she were male. I believe Korea is not yet ready to vote for a female leader. Maybe in later years. I think North Korea would refuse to speak to South Korea if they elected a female! Japan would then come over and claim DokDo Island! I respected her father. I met him in his first year as President of Korea. His "Koreanized Democracy" was necessary for control back then, except he was too strict in prohibiting opposition to his party. How is she (Park Goon-Hye) doing, by the way?
That incident with her being cut was pretty extreme. Were any facts (not speculations) revealed besides doctors babbling on of their wonderful stitching techniques? I agree with Mr. Joe. Korea is not ready for a female president no matter how popular she is. But it would be pretty neat to see a female president...Korea or the US. |

Thanks.... I'm thinking may be you're right, but she would be President someday. And she will reform to Korean society. You know, Korea is very dynamic country. I believe it. And, you are always my adviser. I need your advice, because You have many experience more than I. |

Given the ROK now has its first female Prime Minister, Han Myeong-sook, who is relatively popular and seems to be doing a capable, credible job so far, the ROK polity may be ready to vote in a female president if Han continues to impress and if Park can nail down the party nomination. Park's GNP party is the one that just came away with the huge landslide victory in the local elections. Goh Geun is another front runner but he doesn't have a party backing him (yet) and he will be well into his 70s before he takes office (if elected) which will likely scare away some voters, too. Give her a chance.... ![]() |

Ms. Park would do well. I wish her luck! But...
Korea has too many centuries of Male supremacy to elect the first woman to try. We all know the women run the show in Korea, but it has been from the back seat, never out front except for the case of a Queen. I hate to admit that the U.S. has had over 50 years of affirmative action and equal opportunity laws that have softened up the political climate, and Hillary could win there. Of course the sheeple will have to overlook a lot of inability to hold a Democratic party together!

I'm thinking a woman in the Presidency and a woman in the PM position would send a clear message to other women in Asian countries; stand up and be counted!
