Is the media giving the criminals in France a free pass?

This is a disturbing trend in my opinion. I continue to read stories that are way too PC. The story about French riots was the first story I read today. It is striking that these Islamic/African criminals are called "youths" throughout the story. Let's take a look at the article. Full article here.

First paragraph:

Quote:
PARIS - The French Cabinet approved a bill Monday to extend the country's state of emergency for three months, while youths set schools ablaze and waged other scattered arson attacks across France.
While "youths set..." blah blah. Are these French youths? They may have been born in France, but they don't speak French and their religion is Islam (most French are not). Let's read on. The next three paragraphs are about the government. then in the fourth paragraph:

Quote:
Overnight, the number of car-torchings — a barometer of the unrest — dropped sharply, with youths setting fire to 284 vehicles, compared to 374 the previous night, police said Monday. There were no clashes between police and rioters.
Again, youths. A few paragraphs later, the writer goes on the brink of hitting on it!

Quote:
The 18 nights of arson attacks and riots — set off by the accidental electrocution deaths of two teens who thought police were chasing them — began in Paris' poor suburbs, where many immigrants from North and West Africa live with their French-born children in high-rise housing projects.
Ok, we are almost there. We now have North and West Africa!

A few paragraphs later, we get some more general labels.

Quote:
In scattered attacks overnight Sunday-Monday, vandals in the southern city of Toulouse rammed a car into a primary school before setting the building on fire.

In northern France, arsonists set fire to a sports center in the suburb of Faches-Thumesnil and a school in the town of Halluin, the North regional government said.
Arsonists and vandals?

Out of 19 paragraphs, Islam, Islamic, or Muslim is not mentioned a single time!!!! Do a search on the full article. This is the same problem in America after 9-11. CNN was calling the hijackers "alleged" terrorists. When Israel kills a terrorists, the news reports "Israeli gunships fired on a car." They don't say a "gunship" fired on a car. When a preacher commits a crime (rape, molestation, etc) they always bring up the fact that he was a preacher, not "John Smith raped a child today", it is always "a preacher raped a child."

I'm sorry to say, but in France this is a clash of religion and race pure and simple. The French are mostly white Christians and these "youths" are mostly North African Muslims. Is it so bad to point out the obvious? I will bet 99% of these "youths" are Muslim. So, why not call them "Muslim youths"? When the French negotiate with the leaders of the rioters, they are speaking to the religious leaders of the mosques to stop the violence. Religion is the BIGGEST factor for the divide in France, so why not point it out? The media had NO problem pointing out race in the Katrina aftermath.

Here is an example of what I am talking about. In Australia, there were some small riots. The media went out of their way to point out that these were white males. Here is the article:

Violence triggered by race tensions has hit Sydney for a second night, with youths damaging cars and shops. A reporter in the suburb of Cronulla, where dozens were arrested after riots on Sunday, described scenes of "chaos".

Police said carloads of people had come into the area from other parts of Sydney and committed violent acts.

Australian Prime Minister John Howard condemned the weekend's attacks by thousands of young white men on people of Arabic and Mediterranean background.

"We have shops damaged at Caringbah, cars damaged at Cronulla," said a spokesman for New South Wales police. "We have six arrests at this stage."
A reporter from the ABC national radio network said some of the people coming into Cronulla had carried out attacks on property.

'Bricks thrown'

At the nearby suburb of Brighton-Le-Sands, "a smaller crowd has thrown bricks and other objects at police cars and passing motorists", the reporter said.

Earlier in the evening police had confiscated iron bars from parks and the roofs of buildings at nearby Maroubra. Police believed they had been stored there by residents.

The ABC also reported police were monitoring cars travelling through the suburb of Rockdale, and large groups of people gathering in Punchbowl and Peakhurst.

Thousands of young white men attacked people of Arabic and Mediterranean background on Cronulla Beach on Sunday.

The fighting injured more than 30 people, including police officers, and at least 16 people were arrested.

The clashes follow an assault on two lifeguards last week, reportedly by youths of Middle Eastern origin.
