Declassified Report: WMD in Iraq

I am ready to here all the guys who say, "Where are the WMD in Iraq." Well, here is a declassified report that shows we found 500 chemical filled munitions since the start of the war. Let's hear the next excuse why we shouldn't be in Iraq. I guess Bush didn't lie so much. This is the UNCLASSIFIEDS version. What do you think the classifieds version plus the thousands of documents that haven't been declassified say? Bus as usually, the elite media that does not have access to classified information know more that President Bush. Nice!

"Do you really want to purchase this Iraq-doc.pdf article ?
The price is $82.50 ?"

I heard it on the radio, and on another site. I never doubted there was enough evidence of WMD, but this article seems to be a lukewarm testimony, and will be stifled by those who want to maintain the momentum against our president and his actions.

He was right to go in when he did. He and I both had "classified information."
Knowing when to get out was, and is, a horse of a different color.

From Fox News:

Quote:
Offering the official administration response to FOX News, a senior Defense Department official pointed out that the chemical weapons were not in useable conditions.

"This does not reflect a capacity that was built up after 1991," the official said, adding the munitions "are not the WMDs this country and the rest of the world believed Iraq had, and not the WMDs for which this country went to war."

The official said the findings did raise questions about the years of weapons inspections that had not resulted in locating the fairly sizeable stash of chemical weapons. And he noted that it may say something about Hussein's intent and desire. The report does suggest that some of the weapons were likely put on the black market and may have been used outside Iraq.

He also said that the Defense Department statement shortly after the March 2003 invasion saying that "we had all known weapons facilities secured," has proven itself to be untrue.

"It turned out the whole country was an ammo dump," he said, adding that on more than one occasion, a conventional weapons site has been uncovered and chemical weapons have been discovered mixed within them.
In the context of proving that Saddam had an ongoing WMD program or had WMD that he planned on using or selling to terrorists, this is a non-story.

To show all the, “Where are the WMD” naysayers the WMD, this is a major story.

Finding Pre-1991 chemical weapon munitions in regular munition dumps or supplies is not major news. No one disputes that Saddam had possessed chemical weapons. What was disputed was whether he continued production and research into chemical weapons and had stockpiles of chemical weapons at the time of the US invasion. When the US finds the mobile biological weapon labs or the yellowcake imported from Niger, then you'll have a major story.

All these 500 or so munitions show is that Saddam had improperly disposed of chemical weapons, which is something that the US and every other country with such weapons has done. It does, however, highlight the dangers of improperly disposed of chemical weapons pose in this age of terrorism, whether they lie in Iraq, the Sea of Japan, or the Gulf of Mexico. We can all agree though, that unexploded chemical ordinance abandoned in Iraq is of the greatest danger for the US and our troops right now.

An unclassified report stating there are small numbers of chemical munitions does not equate to WMD in anybody's book. We didn't go to war over 500 pieces of defunct munitions. Find the mother lode. You'll get validation then. Until then, we all know the dangers of Iraq were hyped up. Colin Powell knew it too... probably his main reason for not staying on as Secretary of State. He got tired of the hype.

This is a DECLASSIFIED report, not an unclassified report. There is a major difference.

Why do we need to find the mother lode? We will have to invade Iraq or there was never a mother lode to find. We may never know in the unclassified world.

I guess the 200,000 U.S. troops that fought in the Iraq war fought wore chemical warfare suits in the 100 degree sun because they were reading "hyped" intelligence? Or did they were it because they read reports that 99.9% of civilians do not have access to? Also, let's ask the Kurds or Iranians if Saddam had chemical weapons. Well, we can ask the ones that survived.

I trust the judgement of the US intelligence community that have access to classified information over the armchair generals that have access to newspapers and no real intelligence.

Your opinion based off reading the newspaper.

Again, your opinion.
