Do korean consider themselves to be Turanians?

Hello Korean brothers and sisters.

There is a theory that Korean might be related to Mongols and Turks etc..

Do you think there is a truth behind this?

You may learn about Turanian culture here if you do not know what I mean;

Hi , there !
Im Korean. We have no relation to Turks, absolutely.
But, Mongolian is our ancestor. Korean's face is the same with Mongolians.
Chinese, Japanese, Korean is from Mongolians.
Do you understand ?
So, Korean has no relation to Turks, absolutely !
Oh....Btw, I know that you dispatched troops to Korea in Korean war,1950.
Thanks a lot about that.

Cool Re: Do korean consider themselves to be Turanians?

Obviously Koreans are heavily influenced in ancestry by Mongolians. Where or if the Turks played a part in early Mongolian Ancestry is something I have not studied. As most believe the human family started in the area of the fertile crescent, we should be better informed before making such statements such as "Absolutely" or "Absolutely not"...
But I would venture to say Koreans, Chinese and especially the Japanese would dearly love to call themselves a "Pure" race, as the Germanic peoples
prefer to believe!
Proof of any such purity would be as hard to prove as would be one religious group's faith's superiority over another!

"Sino-" as a prefix means "Chinese".

Re: Do korean consider themselves to be Turanians?

No, I just meant that pureturk must have been asking if you consider Koreans to be Chinese/Tibetan (probably because of the Mongol reference from earlier in the discussion).

Just like the formal number system in Korea is referred to as "Sino-Korean" because the numbers are derived from the Chinese.

Hope that helps.
