Does the US dollar worry you

Well on my birthday (the 21st) i saw something i never thought i would, the Canadian dollar over came the US dollar, and since then has lost another 2cents to the canadian dollar

the thing to be even more worrying is the fact that in my life time the CND has also been at 65cents USD (1CND gets you 65cents canadian)

now this would be good news for me if i wasn't being payed in USD... (knew i should have tried for GBPs)

Does the dollar worry anyone else?

could this maybe mean that the costs of producing goods in the United states might go down and bring more jobs back to the US?

anyone elses thoughts

~Tai

Re: Does the US dollar worry you

The cost of producing US goods does not go down (may actually go up) but it does make US goods cheaper to buy so exports will go up. The cost of making products in the US could go up if a company buys a lot of its supplies to make products from other countries. For instance, computer makers a lot of their computer components from Taiwan, China and other countries. The cost to import the will cost more.

The main benefit of a cheap dollar is more people will vacation in America (Hawaii, Florida, Vegas, etc).

One of the biggest negatives that will effect America is that we import so much oil. This means the cost of oil for Americans will go up that means gas prices will go higher in most parts of the U.S.

Re: Does the US dollar worry you

Many noteworthy people and monetary scientists think we are at the beginning of what they refer to as 'the end game'. The end game referring to many things in geo-politics and the U.S. Dollar. Central Banks create the money problems yet they never take responibility for the problems they create. If the federal reserve continues to create money out of thin air at double digit rates, the dollar will continue to fluctuate up and down on a downward trend. Other central banks will have to cut rates and print more money to keep their currencies from becoming too strong or their export markets will also suffer. The dollar is in trouble, there is no doubt about it. Vote for Ron Paul for the next U.S. president. He is the only candidate that understands these problems and is honest in public about it all. Peace.
