The Great Raid Movie Review

Well, I just watched the Great Raid (2005 version) and think it's time for a review.

First, I will state I read a ton of reviews before I watched this movie. The Weekly Standard suggested to see this movie and is the only reason I knew about it.

The Weekly Standard had a few articles on it because the Hollywood morons gave the movie bad reviews. Why? Because it was a bad movie? No! Becuase it wasn't PC enough. Some of the well known morons ... I mean movie critics stated that the movie portrayed the Japanese as evil and cruel. Basically, they were saying the movie slammed Asians.

Here is some trivia: which country killed 100s of thousands of people brutally in World War II? Which country is responsible for the Rape of Nanking? You guessed it, the Japanese!

Quote:
In December of 1937, the Japanese Imperial Army marched into China's capital city of Nanking and proceeded to murder 300,000 out of 600,000 civilians and soldiers in the city. The six weeks of carnage would become known as the Rape of Nanking and represented the single worst atrocity during the World War II era in either the European or Pacific theaters of war.
Anyone want to convince me that the Japanese were not evil in the 30s?

We live in a world were people forget history and don't like to see patriotic movies. Any movie that shows our military in a good light almost always get's bad reviews from morons ... I mean movie critics. They would rather show movies where Sean Penn is raping a Vietnamese girl or Tom Cruise is crippled for life for being an idiot volunteer. I am thankful that there are prople like Steven Spielberg in Hollywood!

Ok, on with the review. The Great raid is an excellent movie! I learned so much. I didn't even know that we rescued some 600 POWs from a Japanese death camp in the Philippines. This story had to be told.

The movie portrays the Japanese how they were in the 1930s and 40s: as a ruthless force set on world domination. It is known that the Japanese saw surrender as weakness and punished their captures with brutal treatment or death. They killed 10 for every person that attempted to escape.

The movie is not the greatest movie since sliced bread (whatever that means), but it is a must see for anyone that is ignorant to the Japanese occupation of the Philippines and their treatment of POWs. Also, it shows the greatest raid in American history! Run, don't walk, to you local $5 DVD knock off stand and get it today!
