I agree that it is easy to say, "if that happened to me I would ..."
Honestly, if I was the driver and I had a passenger, I would have gotten out of dodge the first chance I got. There is nothing brave about that. Watch the video again and you will see the guy had a chance to get in the car and drive away when there were just a few people around. He was way too casual about the situation and the lady got a beating and may have been killed. Watching that video I don't see those animals stopping. I have studied a lot of martial arts in my life and the first thing I was taught was to AVOID conflict. Even the toughest guy can get stabbed by the weakest man. Mike |

Not that I'm defending the driver in any way, but I can see he was just trying to keep his cool by acting casually. I sure did when I was getting mugged by keeping a straight face and not making eye contact.
Well, being the coward I am, I think I would have hesitated in that situation, too. Sure, it's possible to run over all the bodies in the way, but what if there were children in the crowd? Could I sleep at night if I had accidentally run over one of them? Just thoughts...more hesitation! Yup! I'm a Chicken! Chicken! Bok! Bok! Last edited by eddiev9 : 01-18-2006 at 04:39 PM. |
