Working with Affiliates

I plan to use the Google Adsense bar to display on all of my pages. For my "tech-section" I plan to link my items through Amazon.com and use their affiliates program.

These are the only 2 methods of profit I know of that are widely used... I was wondering how to approach another company/website into becoming an affiliate, assuming they weren't offering one in the first place. Or if anyone has any other good references to other affiliates?

*affiliates related to computers and accessory sales

If you are talking about sales affiliates, then I would only sign up with the ones with proven affiliate programs that track sales and leads. It is important to have a true tracking program. Amazon, Ebay, Paypal and others are solid. Google is an affiliate advertising program and is the best out there.

If you sign up with others that don't have a tracking affiliate program, then how are you going to track the sales and leads that are generated from your site? It will be impossible.

As far as becoming affiliates for simple link swaps, just contact the webmaster.
