Smile Seoul Computer Club needs your help

The Seoul Computer Club has been helping the Community for over 25 years.
They meet at the USO by Camp Kim, which is across the street from Gate 1 at Yongsan, on Hangangro (The street that goes from Seoul Station to Samkakji to Yongsan Station) Get off the Subway at Samkakji and walk North toward Seoul Station on the left side if the street. You will see a USO sign.
Gate 1 is across the street.
Email club president markwhite@gmail.com for details. The club may fail if more members don't accept nomination for officers. Many of the old pros are leaving the area, and new leaders must come forth. I have been a member for 5 months, and it is a great place for beginners as well as nerds and others to talk and learn. A speaker or project is discussed each month, and free food makes the tiny membership fee well worth it. Second Saturdays from 2 to 4. Upstairs at the USO. No ID Card needed-Koreans, foreigners, military, civilians, school teachers- all are welcome. Please email Mark asap.

Re: Seoul Computer Club needs your help

Taichan should be a member, ne? It is kinda hard for me to have to go up to seoul every other weekend. Plus I am also helping to teach an English glass at that time every Saturday. I would like to join though, if I don't already have the English class.

Re: Seoul Computer Club needs your help

Notice- There will be a meeting on Saturday,13 January! At the USO. I gave directions how to get there in my first post.

I confirmed the meeting and guests are welcome! Please try to come. It is a great opportunity for our Forum folks to meet, also!

GO TO www.seoulcc.org and look at the website. (If you look carefully at the photos of the October meeting that featured LEGO robot building, you can see MY PICTURE in the second photo, back row center! )

Cool Re: Seoul Computer Club needs your help

REMINDER-Today is the DAY-Seoul Computer Club Meets at 2PM
Visitors welcome.
at the USO across from the Korean War Museum side entrance on Hangangro.

I recommend the subway, get off at Samgakchi and exit opposite the Korean War Museum. (Across the street from the Giant Straw Dragon.) Walk past the Apts. and the furniture store another block. Go in left by the KNP Guards to the USO.
If standing at Yongsan Gate 1 looking across the street to the tall apartment buildings, the USO is to the right about 100 yards (Meters).
There is now a crosswalkwalk there, so cross the street, turn right. Driving from gate 1 is not easy. You must turn right, go to the 해 태 building, turn right again anytime before the second intersection, turn left along the Yongsan fence, turn left again at the END of the street. Return to Hangang Ro; turn left IN the intersection and drive THROUGH the next light moving into the outside right lane past the BIG Bowling Pin, slow down, watching for the hole in the wall just past the USO Sign and KNP Guards on the sidewalk. Military card holders should park in Camp KIM. Others may turn right into the USO, but parking is VERY limited. Start Early.

Re: Seoul Computer Club met at 2 PM!

I was early on Saturday. I didn't see you there? I don't blame you, it was the coldest day of the year! We had lots of extra pizza and soft drinks, as there were only about 22 people there. Everyone got a door prize! One fellow came all the way from Taejon! I dropped him off at the Electronics center on my way home. He was buying a stick memory for his computer.
Members showed off their electronic goodies they received for Christmas.
I showed my new Ektaco talking dictionary. (They lied- it doesn't speak Korean! It only writes Korean.) It speaks both English and Spanish, though. Willard Kim spoke on the new Microsoft Vista and Outlook.
"Ask the Experts" drew some interesting questions. Sorry you didn't get to meet the gang. Put it on your calendar for the Second Saturday of Feb!
You're Welcome!
