Thumbs down Memories German Restaurant in Itaewon - BAD!!

I was hoping to get myself some decent German food, but this place was simply AWFUL!!! Not only was the sausage undercooked, but it was VERY expensive and not even remotely tasty.

Avoid this place at all costs.

Sorry you got some bad food! I lived in Germany for 5 years and the food was great.

I believe I saw that sign once-second floor up the hill south of Burger KIng?
Hint: ask around before trying anything in Itaewon. You can't judge these places like a truck stop- by the number of cars in the parking lot!

A Korean friend of mine knows the chef at the place UNDER Burger King. He likes it.

Re: Memories German Restaurant in Itaewon - BAD!!

It was a spur of the moment decision, and I was not expecting it to be quite that horrible!

I am going to hit a few more places in the coming weeks... some close to post and some not, but that is the beauty of the subway/ bus system!

Re: Memories German Restaurant in Itaewon - BAD!!

Theres a German style restaurant up the street from the Rocky Mountain Tavern that was pretty nice! I don't recall the name, but its on the same side of the street, it has a dark wood exterior with patio seating. Inside the A/C was on double overtime and they had dark green upholstered couch seats that pulled my weary bones deep into their warm embrace! The fare was a little expensive, but my friend and I were sated! Dark bottled beer, a nice selection of beers but when in a German themed restaurant! Also had a plate of sausages and kraut, very nice!

My only negative experience was watching a 4 or 5 year old Korean girl pull out a nice stringy booger and slap that baby right in her mouth!

Re: Memories German Restaurant in Itaewon - BAD!!

yup memories was something else ! after I had eaten my schnitzel the chef appeared , wow if I had seen him before dinner I would of left LOL , anyways ,if you want good German food ,try the Three Alley Pub ,up behind the Hamilton Hotel ,it is run by a German and they serve a great Weissen beer . Not terribley expensive and good food , typical smoky pub atmosphere.
I lived in the Vaterland for 11 yrs and miss the food something fierce !
Gunther always comes up trumps with the Schnitzel !

Yup - it's gone because he moved to Songtan (Osan AB). Still very expensive and still not that good.

We went there for dinner last week. It was recommended to us by several different people who love it. My husband and I both thought it was a little pricey and the food wasn't that great. German food isn't my favorite though so I'm not really one to judge. It wasn't horrible by any means, just not fantastic, kwim?
