Motorcycle district

Anyone know of the whereabouts of the motorcycle district in Namdemun? I've heard of it, it supposed to have shops for all different makes, HD, Suz, Honda, Yam, etc, but I'd like to get good directions before I make my way up to Seoul.

Re: Motorcycle district

That's awesome.
But...how does one drive there?...
Routing that is: I've got the whole driving thing licked.

Re: Motorcycle district

Ok here we go , I will give you directions the best I can .......go over Banpo bridge ,direction Namsam , go straight and past Yongsan ( on Left ) , past entrance to Itaewon (on right ),next intersection take right , go straight , (lots of Kimchi pots on left hand side ) look ahead you will see tunnels , take the Right hand tunnel , when you come out vere to the left , next large intersection Toegyero is signposted , go left , go straight and then left again at next major intersection ,( not too far ) Easyriders used to be on the left . You are now in Toegyero, take your pick of the shops ,they are everywhere on botht sides of the street .
Hope this helps , I am a not well versed in road names etc ! this is all North of the river !

One word: subway.

If you drive, you'll drive around for hours looking for a place to park - and if you do manage to find one - it might very well be a good walk from your car.

Re: Motorcycle district

I agree ,there is no parking , I remember waiting in the bus lane in my car while my husband went into a store with his bike !take about running the gauntlet ! The best way is to either ride your bike ,or take a taxi .If you have access to Yongsan you could leave your car there .

I guess I should have put in there that this trip was to get my bike up to a good shop. I've been having trouble finding one in my neighborhood.
I didn't get this thread started in time for it to bear fruit before I went up today, so I stopped off at the VPC on Yongsan--they steered me to it.
And you weren't kidding about the parking, my wife followed me with all of the parts for the work I needed--she had to circle in Seoul traffic for about 20 minutes for a spot close to the shop. Seoul-standard I guess...

Cheers

Re: Motorcycle district

They're working on it. It was a drop-off job; tires, brakes, oil, and forks for which I still need to get the parts for. I didn't get a chance to walk the entire line of shops--maybe this weekend.

Re: Motorcycle district

I hope you do as well as my husband ,he always seems to get massive amounts of work done for very little money ! They all stand by their work too, he took something back one day ,that had been repaired and after riding my husband was not completely happy , and they said oh sorry and fixed it again with no questions asked .
