Giving birth at 121
I am actually living NCS at Osan AFB, but I have to deliver up at 121GH. Because I got here at 29 weeks pregnant, I never had to go through the little class at the beginning of my pregnancy. I was wondering if anyone here has given birth or know someone who has. I am wondering what I will need to bring to the hospital? I have no idea what they will/will not provide. Also, do you know if they have a minimum stay? I stayed only 24 hours after the birth of my first two back in the states. I am 32 weeks now, but plan on packing my bag soon. I have a 1 year old and a 2 year old, so I will not be staying up there like they suggest. It just wouldn't work for my family. Thanks for any info you can give me! I have an appointment next week, but they weren't all that helpful last time.

Re: Giving birth at 121
Is this your first baby? I'm into natural birth, so if your wife is interested in that at all, I'd be happy to give her any info. I've done it with drugs and without drugs, and I can really say that without is better. :)

Re: Giving birth at 121
I don't think she's intrested in the natural birth, she's heard from all her friends to take the drugs. And no she's scared and thinks she's really going to need the drugs. I'll let her know that theres someone out there that prefers a natural birth and see if she's intrested.
Well I hope someone here post something about 121. If you call the family support center and ask for the lady's name that taught the breast feeding class this past weekend she might be able to help you out. I know she recently gave birth at 121 and said it was a very nice experience. They might be able to pass her your number, I think she's leaving for the states soon so you might want to try that soon if you're really intrested. |

Re: Giving birth at 121
I haven't learned anything yet. I go again on Thursday and will be meeting with an american doctor to discuss stuff. The korean Dr. Kim is great, but I have a hard time understanding him to discuss things in detail. I'll let you know what I learn.

I'm hopeing they have a space open up by next week. My wife is due on the 17th and they called to tell us that there isn't any room at the moment. I'll try and post up our exeperience there and with the experience at 121.

Re: Giving birth at 121
No room at the hospital or at the Stork's Nest? I'm due on the 15th and they never called to tell me anything like that. They called to try to reschedule my appointment *I told them no-- I'm 38 weeks and haven't been seen since 2 days before 36 weeks* They said nothing about the hospital being full. Weird. OH well. If I end up there in labor about to deliver, I doubt they'd turn me away.
