Mail delivery (venting)

Does anyone know why mail is SO SLOW in Yongsan? I wouldn't complain, but it was faster when we were in Baghdad. Heck, I think it was at least this fast during OIF 1 in Tikrit.

That's one of the reasons I posted - if I know how widespread the problem is, I can figure out who the best person is to talk to about it. :) Thanks!

Re: Mail delivery (venting)

I have on several occasions waited 6 7 8 weeks for a small package here at Osan. It is ridiculous. No shipping things out, I have shipped out 3 big packages all space A and they only took 2 weeks! I really don't know what the deal is but it is very frustrating.

I got the best one...ready...here you go. I subscribe to "Entertainment Weekly". The key word to that is weekly. Two days ago I got three issues at the same time. Oh, and I got a issues two weeks ago. So, one of the three I got is older then the issue I got two weeks ago. How does that happen?

I have the same problem with my Newsweek magazines. But the problem here at the Hump is that the post office can't deliver it to the correct unit. I can't tell you how many pieces of mail I have gotten with a "Missent" stamp on it. I've left ICE comments and it got to the point where the Sgt. who runs the place wrote me back and told me if I didn't like it I should volunteer to work at the PO and see just how hard it is.

I was at the base library and I got the idea to count all of the magazines on the racks and count how many "missent" stamps were on the magazines. I can't remember the exact numbers now but over 10% of the magazines had the missent stamps on them. Does that mean that 10% of all post mail is being missent to the wrong units? That's the way I saw it.

I'm almost positive I've saved them all. Let me go digging for them. I looked. I didn't keep them. She wrote it in a diplomatic way but that was definitely the gist of her message when she suggested I volunteer there. I was very close to forwarding her email to someone higher up but she also mentioned that she would tell her clerks to keep an eye out for my mail, to make sure it wasn't missent of course. I didn't want my mail to be placed in File 13 because I pissed them off. This was probably the 3rd time I wrote an ICE comment and I know she wasn't happy.

Cool Re: Mail delivery (venting)

Maybe 3% of my mail is received late and missent at Yongsan. My NRA Magazine stopped coming completely. Someone gets them.
My Boss just got a Christmas Card back that he had sent to his mother-in-law TWO YEARS AGO!
Definitely a problem.
