Re: auto insurance in korea
We had to get insurance through AIG because for some reason USAA didn't want to cover us. Funny thing, because the person we bought the vehicle from has USAA insurance, but the website wouldn't accept the vin number. So, we paid around 400 dollars for a year.
We also got renter's insurance with AIG when we went on leave, and it cost us 250 dollars for 30,000 coverage. |

You can get renters insrance also. I pay $20 a month for car insurance and renters insurance through USAA.

Re: auto insurance in korea
We're also using USAA for our car in Korea...its about $15/mo. We called USAA the night we bought the car and arranged it all by phone with no problem. Yes, it is a Korean car.

Re: auto insurance in korea
We have a Korean car insured through USAA and it costs us $140 a year, that's about $11 a month. It's a 1994 Kia Capital. POS is what I call it but hey it gets my husband from home to work and back again cheaply everyday. I hate the car but love not having car payments!

Re: auto insurance in korea
And that's exactly what Koreans call it. The next time you talk about your car with a Korean, refer to it as a "ddong cha" (똥차).
"ddong" is the Korean word for shi+ (long "o" sound) "cha" is the Korean word for car (the "a" rhymes with "ahhh") I'm sure they will get a good laugh from that. |
