This story doesn't make me feel that Yongsan is secured too well.

They will get the lady to talk. They just haven't found the right button to push yet. (They no longer can use the Chinese water torture nor the bamboo strips under the fingernails.)
The Korean Service people have their own gate, near gate 1, but not in direct sight of the US hired guards. Normally locked at night. I doubt they are allowed to sleep in the office at night. (Drunks sleeping often smoke in bed.) The Korean National Police augmentees are not normally around at night, as their duties are strictly Protestor & Riot Control. They have no other duties as far as I know. I don't think they have any duties like gate protection. Their main (boring) mission is to survive until their 25 month duty in lieu of military service is finished. The poor kids aren't even supposed to converse with foreigners, it appears. (I have given them candy when their Sergeant wasn't looking.) |
