Police investigating soldiers in Korean tip-jar theft

More idiots destroying Korea/U.S. relations!

Quote:
South Korean police are investigating two U.S. soldiers in connection with the theft of money from a tip jar in an off-base bar.

Yongsan police station detective Jung Hyun-soo said the soldiers, both 23, were apprehended about 12:30 a.m. Sunday at Gecko’s Terrace Bar in Itaewon.

During the initial questioning, Jung alleged, the soldiers admitted to taking about $200 in won and dollars from the jar for fun.

Jung alleged Bryant took advantage of the crowded bar and grabbed the tip jar while the bartenders were busy. He said both soldiers then stuffed the money into their pockets.

A woman who witnessed the act alerted the bar manager, who contacted the police, according to Jung.

If they had a camera in the bar that night, they could sell the film to FOX and it could be part of the 'Stupid Criminals Caught On Tape' show. I hope the Korean News plasters their mug shots on the front paqe!

Talking "The Ugly American" lives again.

I read a book by that title once. It detailed how Americans looked to others.
We certainly deserve bad press a lot these days! As was said, though, it sure seems that the good we do is often not printed.
Those of you who visit orphanages and old folks homes, and see positive things we do, please get word to your Public Affairs Office and have a writer and photographer cover the event! We really need to counter these stupid soldier acts with good things in the press! If everyone helps, we can do it!
