Memorial Day celebrated in Yongsan on 26th
10 AM Friday was the time the ceremony was held at Yongsan. Lt. General
Valcourt spoke well, and the usual Guests were present, including General Baek. A 21 Cannon Salute, Taps, and a parade of Korean drill teams and Bands was very nice. VFW members were up from Taegu, Osan and Pusan. It was a fitting and moving tribute to our fallen comrades from all wars. Wreaths were laid, and tears were shed. I was proud to be in attendance. President Bush's message requested we all stop and observe a moment of silence at 1500 hours local on Monday. Last edited by Mr. Joe : 05-28-2006 at 01:09 PM. |
