Well, it's not really "my" house...it was the house I lived in in the early 1970s as a teenaged dependent. It was located on South Post, near Gate 19, between the northern perimeter wall and Collier Field.

Until recently, I could see it clearly--and all the familiar landmarks of my old neighborhood--on Google Earth (although I don't know when those images were taken). But now I see new images of Yongsan up...and my house is...gone! As well as the cluster of maybe 8 to 10 other duplexes in my immediate neighborhood. My street is even gone, rerouted around what looks like a levelled field. Collier Field looks like it is being turned into something else!

Anyone know what is going on there? I can try to post some of the Google images if it isn't clear what I am talking about.

Well, Scott, they have built a big helipad sort of across the street from Collier.
I never got back in behind MND to check on your house. There is road repair going on as we speak, and I haven't paid much attention since we spoke earlier. The town is still building skyscrapers beside and behind the hospital, near where I used to live by gate 19.

as always, many thanks Mr. Joe. I can see those enormous skyscrapers just to the southwest of gate 19...man, that area has seen some change over the past 30 years!
