Re: MI Ball
Where can I get tickets for this ball? Will my Class A uniform be appropriate attire? I am new to the ARMY and to the MI community, so this will be my first ball. I would like to go but i don’t really know much about it as I work in an MP unit. Any advice would help alot.

Re: MI Ball
You could ask the unit you work with or you initially belonged to ( the MI one). I know DH's company was given only 50 tickets.
My hubby is going in his dress blues, so I am not sure about Class A's. The Ball is this Friday so asking tomorrow or even today would probably be useful. |

Re: MI Ball
Does anyone else see the irony in the fact that this is an MI ball and people are asking 1) What is MI? and 2)What? There's a ball? I didn't know anything about it.
Typical...for MI that is... ![]() |

Re: MI Ball
How is that typical for MI? They didn't make so much publicity for it and probably those working in the field know about it...

Ha! I get it Dameeun! But you and I are AF. Anyway maybe I caused the Army some confusion when I said military should go. I meant MI folks.
MI means the Military Intelligence Community. If you are in the Army MI, you will know about it, and you will be encouraged to go, and if you ask your supervisor, you will know what to wear and what to pay and all about it. If you are not in the MI community you probably should inquire about your own Brigade or battalion or Company's ball, not theirs. The Signal Ball is later on at the Grand Hyatt. It costs $60. The Hyatt is really nice, Condalezza Rice and Mr. Rumsfeld stayed there last year. That's why it costs so much. It is for Signal people. Some can't really fit it in their budget. I feel sorry for the lower grade folks. Officers go because it is expected. Signal folks are holding Bake Sales and selling burgers and hotdogs all over Yongsan to help raise money for it. (Not sure why, maybe they pay for the lower grades to go until the money runs out??) To get the minimum number required to rent the room and get the dinner? |
