Cool Re: Yongsan photo, 1972

You know they built an overpass, which has no gate joining Main Post to South Post, but the gates are still there, undeneath. Gate 10 has a walk-in to the right of the overpass, you can't quite see the little guardshack. Lots of changes. Hartell House is still in use, and serves as the Officer's Club. About where the O Club was. A lot of earth was removed.
Third photo is roughly the same as your Dad's site. Second is turning around looking south from the same spot. Large building on the left of the photo is the Dragon Inn Hotel. You can tour it on the internet, (Dragon Inn, Korea.) First is a tighter shot of Namsan and the overpass.

Re: Yongsan photo, 1972

You are a gentleman and a scholar.

It's really a blast to see these locations--and the changes made to them--so many years later.

That intersection featured largely in my life as a teenager. Every weekend we'd cross there to see movies at the theater...25 cents...and sometimes I'd hang a left out of South Post and walk all the way down to gate 19 and go back in.

But I must say--those changes are massive. I can see the mountains and the AFKN antenna but everything else has changed!
