Re: random 1972 Seoul photo of the day
No ideas anyone?
thanks, Scott PS I'm asking because I'm contributing to a book being written by a professor of history at one of Seoul's universities and would like to be able to help with identification. |

I don't see a pic anywhere. Maybe I'm missing something.

You should see a shot embedded in the post.
If you scroll down a few posts on this Yongsan thread, can you see other shots I posted? Odd. |

Re: random 1972 Seoul photo of the day
Seoul's skyline changes so fast, that it would be hard to tell for sure even if this pic were taken just ten years ago. The only thing you can really go on is the natural parts of the skyline. I don't see Namsan in the pic, so it's a pretty safe bet that you didn't take this picture from the northern part of Seoul looking south. Generally speaking, there are not a lot of hills to be seen when looking to the east and west. So the hills in the background might be those that stretch across the northern edge of Seoul. And since this quite obviously is taken from the side of a hill, my guess is that it was taken near the base of Namsan (could be from any side except the southern side) looking north.
But that is purely a guess on my part. |

Scott: I just got back-I'll take a while to catch up. I also believe The photo is Hu Am Dong facing West. Good to be back.
