Re: TV converter for US channels
Slingbox is what you are looking for, but you must have a dedicated person in the states that has cable TV...

Re: TV converter for US channels
There is a2bTV.com. they host your slingbox and sattelite for you for a fee and you can even have a DVR. I haven'tdone it myself but came across an ad on Stars and Stripes.

You could go to the pay site if you have no contact or relative in the U.S., if you wish. Sharing a friend's or family's cable for free seems like a better deal to me!

Re: TV converter for US channels
Be VERY careful with those Slingbox hosting services, their legality is a bit questionable, but the service is good.
I have a Slingbox and at least two other people on this forum have them as well. You do need someone in the USA with good hi-speed internet and a spare cable or satellite line. The key to a good picture is being able to get at least an 800 kb. upload stream from the host. It might be worth it to pay for upgrading someone's service to get that... it is only a few bux a month! I HIGHLY recommend getting a DVR with it, because the time difference is too significant to watch any of the prime time shows without it! |
