Re: Namdaemun Market
My experience with the post cab to the market was nice and UNEXPECTED.....
They dropped me off at the gate right across from the temple that burned down, gate 10 or 1 I cannot remember. They also gave me a card with the taxis phone number, I called the taxi and requested to be picked up at that gate, 5 minutes later I recieved a phone call saying that a cab was on the way, another 5 minutes I recieved another phone call saying the taxi was there and waiting on me...as I recieved the 2nd phone call the taxi pulled up....I was impressed....

Not to be a jerk, but it wasn't a temple that burnt down. It was a gate. Namdaemun means "South Gate". Long time ago Seoul was very small. They had a wall going around the whole city. Namdaemun was the gate in the south part of the wall. Just like Dongdaemun is the gate to the west. Just for your information. |

But if your going to correct me then you need to correct EVREYONE on this board, not just pick and choose who you want to.............

Re: Namdaemun Market
He said "Not to be a jerk!" , trying to soften the blow. Ha! Ha! I still don't get it. Nothing burnt down near Yongsan gate 1 or 10? I'm guessing that you meant the overarching Market Gate # by the entrance to the Namdaemun market? I can't remember them either. I have enough trouble remembering Hoehyeon Station, Line 4, stop 425. That is Namdae Mun Market stop. You really got a good taxi driver that day! He deserves a tip!
Dr. Worm can't correct everyone, and neither can we. Thanks doc! But we do have to be flexible, sorta like a worm! |

Re: Namdaemun Market
How about lets stop correcting people "just becasue".
If we corrected everyone for every little thing on this board, then we would NEVER be off this board. Do I screw up, yep I sure do....or did I???? Maybe I should have said Seoul's #1 national treasure, or Seoul's most famous land mark. If I would have said, Seouls # 1 national treasure next to gate #1 at (this place) pepole would look at me like, what are you talking about? If I say hey you know that temple monument down by (this place) people are more likely to say yea..... I'm sure someone will reply to this, but oh'well............
