Well, wasn't sure cause when I lived there...I was just a high school student in Songtan...didn't have any money.
Well, I do have one last question. Do you guys know how the tax works? I know my little brother who's a contracter there doesn't get taxed (there's a limit of 80k??). The only thing I can recall about it is that you have to be working in the country for x # of days before you can qualify for this...or am I just guessing? If this is the case, when does this day start? April 1st? |

I'm not a contractor. I believe you must stay 18 months to get exempted from US Income tax.

I, too was thinking about taking a contract position in Seoul, but after comparing the numbers (Post Diff, Housing, etc.), I chose to stay civil service here in Germany. However, I am currently looking for something civil service-wise in Seoul. I've done the whole contractor thing and it was not my thing.
